Poma, a project by catalan composer Paco Jordi, is born from the idea of using free improvisation within a composed context. Thus, the musicians immerse themselves in improvisation which occurs within pre-established structures or even together with previously composed music. The essential principle being to set as few restrictions as possible on the performers.
“Music for violin, cello, clarinet and electric guitar” is Poma's international debut full length album and will be released on the MOOZAK special interest sublabel KAZOOM. Limited to 50 hand-numbered copies, this release comes on rare double sided black graphite discs and in hand painted digipacks.
The release will BE PRESENTED on 25th of may at Fluc in Vienna, featuring a live concert by Paco Jordi (Poma), as well as the folks from "Le Cowboy" (Meaghan Burke, David Schweighart, Bernd Klug).
Furthermore Poma and Le Cowboy will join forces in an improvised musical confrontation after the two main concerts.
